CONSUMER WILL BUY MORE FROM PEOPLE THAT THEY TRUST In the wake of the controversy surrounding the travel behaviour of Speaker Bronwyn Bishop the percentage of people who trust politicians has fallen to an all time low of 25%. This controversy aside, politicians have for many years attracted a low level of trust. Like many people I know, I used to vote for a political party, and I now vote for what I perceive to be the lesser of the available evils, and when I argue about politics, I argue not in support of the party I like abut against the party I like least. This is perhaps why voting is viewed as a ‘grudge purchase’ and why it needs to remain compulsory. Consumers need to trust and they are naturally attracted to those businesses, organisations, individuals and indeed politicians they believe they can trust. Certainly consumers do not respond…
