In 2017, 72.2% of the British electorate of 46.5 million voters cast their vote. Of these, 51.9% voted in favour of BREXIT – Britain succeeding from the European Union. A year earlier, 48% of eligible voters in the United States abstained from voting in the Presidential election. Ultimately, just 26% of the electorate voted for Donald Trump. However, this was just enough to deliver him the electoral college votes needed to win. That 26% amounted to some 67 million people.
