3 keys to Tesla’s success Twelve years after it was founded Tesla has achieved a market capitalisation of US$33.1Billon. It is within the top 13 car companies in the world and will be in the top 10 in just a few years. The reasons for this are many and indeed too many to list here. I would argue however that close to the top on the list is CULTURE. Everything I have read and heard about Tesla suggest that, thanks to the Executive Chairman, Elon Musk, leading by example, has created an amazing culture – a culture that values, among other things: Objective thinking – based on first principles. Critical thinking – accepting just about nothing. Lateral thinking – developing new and better ways. I would argue that Elon Musk has created an environment that values, promotes, recognises and rewards all three. As a result they have benefited from all…
