ABBOTT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE – BUT Y GEN’S ARE. Like many Australians it would seem I was glad to see the back of Tony Abbott. One of the MANY things that offended me most about Tony was his denial of climate change and his support for the dirty coal industry. As it happens this view is entirely consistent with the views of the majority of Australians and in particular the Y generation. Research undertaken by many, including Hugh Mackay, suggests that the Y generation is very concerned about climate change and very much values driven. Irrespective of what those values might be from time to time, research suggests that the Y generation is the more values driven than just about any generation in recorded history. Research suggest that the Y generation is more concerned about the big issues of life that the previous three generations.…
