For me so many lack so much in terms of sincerity and credibility. The phrases that makes me question the credibility of politicians include – “What Australian’s want is……….’, ‘Australians understand that……………..’ and ‘Australians value……..’ These three phrases and the plethora like them suggest, both implicitly and explicitly that: They know what ‘all Australian’ want, understand or value. ‘All Australian’s’ want, understand and value the same things. Both of these suggestions are wrong. These politicians are more often than not talking about what they want, understand or value – or at best what they would like all Australians to want, understand or value. They lack the research – or data – necessary to conclude what Australians actually want, understand or value.…
