ABC 22 recently aired a documentary about a fellow in the United States who made up a religion. People bought into this religion and over a short space of time this fellow built up quite a following. The proposition in the program revolved around the idea that, people will buy into a “made up religion” – and hundreds of people did. In my view however, the proposition was flawed all religions are made up. They are all contrived. Take the Bible for example, it was written by human beings and has been rewritten and rewritten and rewritten by any number of people in a variety of languages over many years. After it was initially drafted, it was translated numerous times, edited numerous times and massaged by Popes and scholars through time. There is NO evidence that the bible is the word of a God!
