There is, however, a lot more to the media landscape. Expenditure on outdoor advertising in Australia is currently growing at the rate of 8.9%, well above the average growth in media spend of around 3%. Certainly, it is growing from a low base – with total expenditure still only around $716 million per annum – but at least it is growing, and grow it should. While most outdoor advertising is crap, this is more related to the inability of many to produce high quality outdoor advertising than it is a comment on the medium.
