Almost every successful business person I can think of is good at building relationships with the right people – customers, potential customers, stakeholders, shareholders, financiers, potential financiers, government and other influencers. Most business people I know say that the most important source of business is word of mouth. Word of mouth in turn depends on relationships, relationships that drive conversion, repeat business and referral.
