During the course of the project the question was asked – to what extent should we be promoting timber flooring?’. This is a good question. It is also a question that is not asked often enough. I watched a commercial on television recently in which an automotive dealer was promoting the merits of Mitsubishi. Why on earth would they do this when there are 10 Mitsubishi dealers in town all selling the same range of vehicles? The fact is – the flooring store should be promoting its offer, not timber flooring, and the vehicle dealership should be selling its offer and not a brand of vehicle.
