embrace the power of facebook There has been a great deal of talk of late regarding the impact that Facebook and Google are having on the media market. It has been suggested that up to 50% of advertising worldwide is now dependent on these two channels. It is no wonder that newspapers and televisions are struggling. The fact is, however, that this trend, while making it very difficult for many media outlets and channels, is an accurate reflection of the the reach and effectiveness of these two social media, and in particular Facebook. Research from Shopify has shown that a staggering 85% of their sales are generated by Facebook. Facebook works. When I hear business people say that they don’t see the point of Facebook and don’t use it, I shudder.
