I was refraining from commenting on issues relating to the current federal election, other than offering a comment on the damage the use of hyperbole is doing to the credibility of all sides and leaders; something I addressed in an article earlier this month. I have however decided to comment on one current, very topical issue – payed parental leave. in doing so, I will be critical of all sides although more so of Tony Abbott given the level of remuneration he is proposing and the fact that it is a ‘signature policy’ for the opposition leader.
