On one of the very few, if not only, occasion I watched commercial television last week, I saw a commercial promoting Browne’s diary products. You may have seen it. It is the one featuring a cross section of Western Australians encouraging other Western Australians to buy Western Australian products, and in particular Browne’s dairy products. As far as I can see, the rational provided for purchasing Western Australian dairy products is the fact that this supports local farmers and the local economy. Indeed, I recall that is exactly what some of the people featured in the advertisement say. There is also an implied suggestion that in suggesting this, Browne’s is a good corporate citizen, supporting local farmers and the local economy. This commercial is part of an integrated media campaign for Browne’s that has been running for some months. The commercial may also have been on television for some time…
