opportunity 72 of 150 Thinking differently can be a real opportunity in marketing – and, indeed, life in general. There is certainly real potential in businesses, or at least for business people, to embrace all types of innovation. It was Albert Einstein who famously quipped – ‘Insanity – doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result’. Clearly, Einstein was right. It only makes sense. This then begs the question, why do people keep on doing the same thing over and over and expect a different – or better – outcome? I suspect it is because change is hard, and real change is really hard. I am sure it is because real change requires thinking differently about just about everything – looking outside the box. This, in turn, involves lateral thinking – something few of us are ever taught to do, and even fewer have ever mastered.…
