LEVERAGING CERTAINTY TO DRIVE PROFITABILITY – 3 OBSERVATIONS These days only 15% of Australians go to church once a month or more. At the same time, around 85% of Australians identify with a religion. While they are reluctant to embrace they want to believe in God – or some form of Deity. In the United States 30% of the population say they believe in creationism. They believe that the earth was created less than 10,000 years ago in 6 days by a god that made man in his image. To me, such beliefs are bizarre. That said, they do highlight a need for certainty – a way of explaining the world around them and what will happen to them when they die. It highlights the attraction to certainty. The same is of course true of people who talk of karma, fate and nature. They too are looking for certainty and…
