MANY FACTORS IMPACT OF OUR PERCEPTION OF MOST THINGS – 3 OBSERVATIONS It is very tempting to get into a discussion of free will – or, more specifically, the extent to which any individual truly has free will. Suffice to say here that most philosophers now agree that the degree of free will humans have is not limitless and could, indeed, be very limited. Certainly, our free will is greatly impacted by: Nature – what we are born with Nurture – what our upbringing instils in us Recognising the debate around free will, it is none the less evident that our perceptions are not entirely freely determined or developed. Our perceptions are influenced by a wide range of factors – many of which we do not control or have much input into.
