MOST OF US FIND IT EASIER TO TRUST SOMEONE WHO IS AUTHENTIC – 3 OBSERVATIONS It is perhaps worse in terms of individuals than business, but it is reflected in behaviour relevant to both. We have all met business people who want to be seen as Richard Branson or Steve Jobs. We have all met people who pretend that their business is bigger, more influential, and more successful than it is. In just about every case, we have thought less of the person, and the business, because of the act they are putting on. Personally, I don’t trust anyone who pretends they are something they are not – and I suspect I am not alone.
